Mowbreck Lane New Planning Application

UPDATE :
A PUBLIC MEETING WAS HELD on
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11th
at 7.00pm Wesham Community Centre
Church Road Wesham

To Discuss the New Wesham Housing Application
(Land East of Fleetwood Road: Fylde Borough Council Application 11/0763)

A new planning application for 100 homes at Wesham has been submitted.

The latest proposal for housing on the land to the east of Fleetwood Rd is on one of the fields previously rejected by the High Court. The field is of the same tenanted working arable farmland as the previous rejected application. Concern has been expressed that the new application is intended as a first phase which if successful would be followed by a further application to fully reinstate the previous scheme for 264 homes. The site layout shows the same spine road terminating at the field boundary.

Over a period of nearly 3 years the previous scheme was comprehensively rejected by the Council's planning committee, the government inspector, the Secretary of State, and finally on September 1st 2010 by the High Court.

It would appear that Metacre Ltd are attempting to impose themselves again and wish to cause detriment to our local environs. This should be vigorously opposed.

As a local resident I am very angry at this latest proposal and hope that everyone will rally round and object.

When my family and I relocated to Wesham 5 years ago we were faced with a massive struggle to get our children into the already very crowded schools. I can't see how Wesham can support even more growth on top of the other new developments.
Even more disturbing is that this new planning application has only been brought to my attention by our neighbours asking us a question. They have had a letter but we haven't. Fylde B C this is not helping...

Really quite upset that I too only learned about this from a neighbour as I was not notified by letter.

We must back the Wesham Action Group and do all we can to ensure that we protect our environment.

Why can't Metacre Ltd leave us alone? They have down sized the original application but if this new proposal is accepted it may lead to the size of the original plans. Must be blocked

I have had a note put through the door inviting attendance at a public meeting at 7pm on Wednesday 11th January at the Community centre. I hope this drums up support. Count me in.

Work committments prevent me from attending on 11th, but I'm just sending my email of opposition to planning@fylde.gov.uk

Wesham neither wants or needs these new houses. Metacre are obviously gluttons for punishment, but if they want to continue throwing money at this, we should redouble our efforts to make sure it's in vain.

One only has to look at the recent developments in Wesham which incidentally were not invited by locals to realise what unnecessary problems have been caused.

Is there any update on the situation. We do not want or need any more housing in Wesham.
